Straight answers about tax preparation, planning, pricing and working with Harmony Tax Services in Middle Tennessee.

Software works for very simple returns, but professional help pays off if you own a business, are self-employed, have investments or rental property, went through a major life change, or received an IRS notice. We prepare individual and business returns, catch deductions software often misses, and give you a real person to call year-round instead of a help screen.

Fees depend on the forms and schedules your return requires. A straightforward individual 1040 costs less than a business return with multiple schedules, or a partnership or S-corporation filing. We always give you a clear, upfront quote before any work begins, so there are no surprises. Call (615) 914-7215 for an estimate.

We are based in Thompson's Station, Tennessee and serve clients throughout Middle Tennessee, including Franklin, Nashville, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Cool Springs, Columbia, College Grove and Arrington. Secure remote tax preparation is available for clients anywhere in Tennessee through our online client portal.

Yes. We prepare partnership and multi-member LLC returns (Form 1065), S-corporation returns (Form 1120-S), C-corporation returns (Form 1120), and Schedule C sole-proprietor returns. We also handle quarterly estimated taxes and can advise on entity selection and owner compensation.

Yes. Don't panic and don't ignore it. Bring the notice to us and we will review it, explain what it means, and respond on your behalf. We handle IRS and state notices, audit representation, back taxes and unfiled returns so you don't have to deal with the agency alone.

The best time to plan is well before year-end. Proactive planning throughout the year lets you time income, maximize deductions and retirement contributions, and avoid surprises at filing. We offer year-round planning and projections, which are especially valuable for business owners, high earners and anyone with a major change coming.

For most individuals: W-2s, any 1099s, mortgage and property tax statements, records of deductible expenses, and last year's return. Business owners should add income and expense records, payroll reports and prior filings. When you reach out, we'll send you a personalized checklist so you know exactly what to gather.

Yes. Many clients never step into an office. You can upload your documents securely through our encrypted client portal, we prepare and review your return with you by phone or video, and you sign electronically. In-person appointments are also available if you prefer.

Existing clients can securely upload documents and view returns through our client portal — use the Client Login link at the top of this site. If you're a new client, contact us first and we'll set up your account and walk you through it.

Tax preparation is filing an accurate return for a year that has already ended. Tax planning happens before year-end and shapes what that return will look like — timing income and deductions, structuring your business, and forecasting your liability so you owe less and are never surprised. We do both.
