When you send us a message
The form on our home page and on the Contact page asks for your name, email, phone number (optional), the service you need and a note about your situation. When you press Send Message, the site saves those details in its own database on Cloudflare, along with the page you sent them from and the country your connection comes from. Your browser then hands the same details to FormSubmit, a form-to-email service, which delivers them to office@harmonytaxcpa.com.
What you type travels as an ordinary email, so please leave Social Security numbers, account numbers and tax documents out of the form.
What our own visit log records
The site logs each page view itself, on Cloudflare, before any script runs in your browser. For each view it keeps:
- the page, and the site, search or ad that sent you, if any;
- your device type and your browser;
- the approximate location and network of your connection (town, state and internet provider), as Cloudflare estimates them.
It doesn’t store your IP address or anything that names you. It also counts taps on our phone number and email address, form sends, and how many seconds a page stayed open, so we can see which pages help people reach us.
Cookies
When a visit starts, the site sets one cookie of its own, ts_src. It notes where the visit began (the site or ad that sent you, the first page you saw, your device type and the time) so a call or a message can be credited to whatever brought you here. It holds no identifier and is deleted when you close your browser.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies, _ga and _ga_P8E3DDDVQG.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics as a second count of visits. It runs in your browser and sends Google the pages you view and how you arrived. Google handles that data under its privacy policy. Google’s opt-out add-on, or blocking cookies for this site, stops it.
Other services the site uses
- Cloudflare hosts the site and its database, and sees your IP address when it delivers a page, as any web host does.
- Client Login opens ClientAxcess (clientaxcess.com), a separate service with its own terms. Nothing you enter there passes through this site.
- Our reviews link to Google, and Google’s own policies apply once you’re there.
